The Tatkal FSSAI Registration Scheme is a fast-track facility introduced by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). It allows eligible food businesses to obtain their FSSAI registration or license in a priority manner, usually within 1–2 working days.

📌 Eligibility for Tatkal FSSAI Registration
Tatkal is available only for low-risk, non-processing businesses and in most Indian states.
✅ Allowed Business Types:
Wholesaler (trading only)
Distributor (packaged food)
Retailer (shops, kirana stores)
Transporter (non-meat, non-dairy)
Storage (without cold storage/atmospheric control)
Importer / Merchant Exporter (trading only)
Direct Seller (MLM / home-based sales)
Food Vending Agency (tea, coffee, snacks carts)
Petty Retailer (small stall, tea shop)
Hawker / Street Vendor (packaged snacks, dry items)
❌ Not Eligible Business Types:
Cloud Kitchens
Restaurants / Cafes
Meat, Fish, Dairy, or Poultry businesses
Processing/manufacturing units of perishable foods
🚫 Not Eligible States for Tatkal
The Tatkal scheme is not available in:
Chandigarh
Himachal Pradesh
Meghalaya

Sweets (non-perishable items like dry ladoo, soan papdi, dry barfi)
❌ Not Allowed Categories (High-Risk, Processing)
Dairy Products (milk, paneer, butter, ghee, ice cream, etc.)
Meat, Fish, and Poultry Products
Alcoholic Beverages (beer, whisky, wine, etc.)
Frozen Foods (frozen vegetables, meat, snacks)
Ready-to-Eat Meals (perishable thalis, biryani, salads, fast foods)
